Job Overview
The Mine Safety Officer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring comprehensive safety programs that protect workers, equipment, and the environment at the Kambia mining site. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments across all mine operations.
- Develop and update safety procedures, emergency response plans, and incident reporting protocols.
- Lead safety training sessions, toolbox talks, and competency assessments for all personnel.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and environmental teams to integrate safety considerations into project designs.
- Investigate accidents, near‑misses, and unsafe conditions, producing detailed reports and corrective action plans.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of Sierra Leone mining regulations and international best practices such as ISO 45001.
- Provide safety guidance during contractor onboarding and third‑party audits.

Applicants must possess a minimum of five years of hands‑on experience in mine safety, occupational health, or a comparable industrial environment. Salary
The successful candidate will receive a competitive monthly salary ranging from SSP 1,800,000 to SSP 2,200,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Salary reviews are conducted annually, and performance‑based incentives are available.
