Job Overview

The Aviation Safety Officer will lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of safety management systems (SMS) across all airport operations. Reporting to the Director of Safety, the officer will conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations, ensuring compliance with national regulations and international standards. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and continuously improve the airport Safety Management System in line with ICAO Annex 19.
• Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments of all airport facilities and operations.
• Lead investigations of safety incidents, near‑misses, and accidents, producing detailed reports and corrective action plans.
• Coordinate with airlines, ground handlers, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
• Prepare and present safety performance metrics and trend analyses to senior management and the Board.
• Design and deliver safety training programs for staff, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Monitor implementation of corrective actions and verify effectiveness of safety interventions.
