Job Overview
The Risk Advisory Consultant will work closely with the Risk Advisory team to deliver comprehensive risk assessments, internal control reviews and compliance advisory services to our clients in the mining, financial services and public sectors. This position involves conducting detailed analyses, preparing insightful reports and presenting findings to senior client stakeholders. The consultant will also support the development of risk mitigation strategies, assist in the implementation of control frameworks and contribute to thought leadership initiatives within the firm. Key Responsibilities
- Perform risk assessments and internal control evaluations for clients across various industries.
- Develop and document risk mitigation strategies aligned with client objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare detailed risk reports, executive summaries and presentation decks for senior management.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design and implement control frameworks.
- Stay updated on local and international regulatory changes affecting client operations.
- Assist in business continuity planning and crisis management exercises.
- Support business development activities by contributing to proposals and client pitches.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting complex concepts clearly.
- Proficiency in risk assessment tools and methodologies (e.g., COSO, ISO 31000).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with data visualization tools.
- Understanding of Sierra Leonean regulatory environment and industry standards.
Education
A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as Certified Risk Analyst (CRA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or similar are advantageous and demonstrate a commitment to the risk advisory profession.
Experience
Applicants should have 3‑5 years of relevant experience in risk advisory, internal audit, compliance or a related field. Experience within the mining sector, financial services or public sector projects in Sierra Leone or the broader West African region will be considered a strong asset.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from SSP 1,500,000 to SSP 2,500,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to the base salary, performance‑based bonuses and annual salary reviews are part of the total rewards structure.
