Job Overview

The Marine Conservation Policy Advisor will be responsible for providing technical expertise and policy guidance to support the development and implementation of marine conservation initiatives in Sierra Leone. The successful candidate will work closely with government agencies, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders to promote the conservation of marine ecosystems and the sustainable use of marine resources.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement effective conservation strategies to protect marine ecosystems and promote the sustainable use of marine resources.
• Provide technical expertise and policy guidance to support the development and implementation of marine conservation initiatives.
• Work closely with government agencies, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders to promote the conservation of marine ecosystems and the sustainable use of marine resources.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, civil society leaders, and private sector representatives.
• Represent the organization at national and international forums, and participate in policy discussions and negotiations.

Required Skills

• Master’s degree in environmental policy, marine conservation, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in environmental policy and marine conservation.
• Proven track record of developing and implementing effective conservation strategies.
• Strong technical expertise in marine conservation and environmental policy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
