Job Overview

The Digital Archivist will be responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of the IRC’s digital archives in Sierra Leone. The successful candidate will have a strong background in information technology, archives management, and digital preservation. The Digital Archivist will work closely with the IRC’s global archives team to ensure that digital archives are managed in accordance with international best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a digital archives program for the IRC in Sierra Leone
  • Design and maintain digital archives systems, including databases and digital repositories
  • Work with program staff to identify and prioritize digital archives needs
  • Develop and implement digital preservation strategies to ensure the long-term accessibility and usability of digital archives
  • Collaborate with the global archives team to ensure that digital archives are managed in accordance with international best practices

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Archives Management, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in digital archives management or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of digital preservation strategies and techniques
  • Experience with digital archives systems, including databases and digital repositories
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
