The World Bank is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Financial Inclusion Specialist to join our team in Sierra Leone. The successful candidate will have a strong background in financial inclusion and a proven track record of working with financial institutions, governments, and other stakeholders to increase access to financial services for the poor and vulnerable.
Job Overview
The Financial Inclusion Specialist will be responsible for leading the World Bank’s financial inclusion program in Sierra Leone. The program aims to increase access to financial services for the poor and vulnerable, and to promote financial inclusion as a key driver of economic growth and poverty reduction.
The successful candidate will work closely with the government, financial institutions, and other stakeholders to design and implement financial inclusion initiatives. They will also provide technical assistance and capacity building support to financial institutions and other stakeholders to help them improve their financial inclusion offerings.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the World Bank’s financial inclusion program in Sierra Leone
- Work closely with the government, financial institutions, and other stakeholders to design and implement financial inclusion initiatives
- Provide technical assistance and capacity building support to financial institutions and other stakeholders
- Develop and implement a comprehensive financial inclusion strategy for Sierra Leone
- Collaborate with other World Bank teams to ensure that financial inclusion is integrated into the Bank’s overall country program
Required Skills
- Master’s degree in economics, finance, or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience in financial inclusion or a related field
- Proven track record of working with financial institutions, governments, and other stakeholders to increase access to financial services for the poor and vulnerable
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Education
Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, or a related field
Experience
At least 5 years of experience in financial inclusion or a related field
