Job Overview
The Credit Portfolio Analyst will support the Credit & Risk Management Department by evaluating loan portfolios, conducting credit risk assessments, and providing analytical insights that guide investment decisions. Key Responsibilities
- Analyze existing credit portfolios to assess risk exposure, profitability, and compliance with AfDB policies.
- Prepare detailed credit risk reports, including rating recommendations and mitigation strategies.
- Monitor borrower performance, covenant compliance, and early warning indicators.
- Collaborate with sector specialists to evaluate new loan proposals and conduct financial modeling.
- Support the development of credit policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior management and investment committees.
- Maintain accurate databases and ensure data integrity for all portfolio analyses.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical and quantitative abilities with proficiency in Excel, VBA, and statistical software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report preparation and stakeholder engagement.
- Knowledge of credit risk assessment frameworks and financial statement analysis.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Familiarity with the regulatory environment in Sierra Leone and the broader African financial sector.
Education
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as CFA, FRM, or CPA are advantageous and demonstrate a commitment to excellence in financial analysis.
Experience
Applicants should have 3-5 years of relevant experience in credit analysis, portfolio management, or financial risk assessment within banking, development finance, or related institutions. Experience working in emerging markets, particularly in West Africa, will be considered a strong asset.
Salary
The position offers a competitive salary range of SSP 1,200,000 to 2,000,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance-based incentives may also be provided.
