Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Policy Specialist to join our team in Makeni, Sierra Leone. The successful candidate will work closely with government agencies, civil society organizations, and local communities to develop and implement effective environmental policies and conservation strategies. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement environmental policies and conservation strategies in collaboration with government agencies, civil society organizations, and local communities
  • Conduct research and analysis on environmental policy issues and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, community leaders, and civil society organizations
  • Provide technical assistance and capacity-building support to government agencies and civil society organizations on environmental policy and conservation issues
  • Develop and manage project budgets and reports

Required Skills

  • Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Policy, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in environmental policy and conservation
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Fluency in English and Krio
