Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Geophysics Research Scientist to join our team in Kabala, Sierra Leone. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting research and fieldwork in geophysics, and for developing and applying new technologies and methods for exploring and managing the Earth’s resources.
The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in Geophysics or a related field, and will have experience in conducting research and fieldwork in geophysics. They will also have excellent communication and teamwork skills, and will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
The successful candidate will be based in Kabala, Sierra Leone, and will be required to travel to other locations in Sierra Leone and internationally as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research and fieldwork in geophysics, including seismic surveys, gravity surveys, and magnetic surveys.
- Develop and apply new technologies and methods for exploring and managing the Earth’s resources.
- Collaborate with other scientists and experts to develop and implement new research projects and initiatives.
- Communicate research findings and results to stakeholders, including governments, businesses, and the public.
Required Skills
- Ph.D. in Geophysics or a related field.
- Experience in conducting research and fieldwork in geophysics.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Education
Ph.D. in Geophysics or a related field from a recognized university.
