Job Overview
We are seeking a Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) Specialist to lead our water and sanitation initiatives in Makeni. Key Responsibilities
- Design and supervise construction of water supply systems and latrines in schools.
- Develop and implement community-led total sanitation campaigns to promote hygiene.
- Conduct regular technical assessments and water quality testing for safety compliance.
- Collaborate with local government bodies to build capacity for infrastructure maintenance.
- Prepare comprehensive project reports and budget forecasts for donors.
Required Skills
- Technical expertise in water engineering and hygiene promotion methodologies.
- Strong project management skills, including budgeting and risk mitigation.
- Ability to engage rural communities and build stakeholder relationships.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English and Krio.
- Proficiency in engineering design software and data collection tools.
Education
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Public Health, or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
Experience
A minimum of five years of progressive professional experience in managing WASH programs within an international development or humanitarian context is required.
