Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Marine Conservation Biologist to join our team in Bonthe, Sierra Leone. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing conservation strategies, conducting research, and educating the public about the importance of marine conservation.
The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree in Marine Biology or a related field, with at least 5-7 years of experience in marine conservation. They will be highly motivated, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a strong commitment to the principles of marine conservation.
The position will be based in Bonthe, Sierra Leone, and will require regular travel to other locations in the country. The successful candidate will be expected to work independently, with minimal supervision, and to be able to work effectively in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement conservation strategies to protect marine ecosystems and promote sustainable fishing practices.
- Conduct research on marine ecosystems and the impact of human activities on these ecosystems.
- Collaborate with governments, NGOs, and local communities to promote marine conservation and sustainable fishing practices.
