Job Overview

The Curriculum Development Specialist will lead the design, adaptation and evaluation of educational programmes for primary and secondary schools in the Moyamba district and surrounding regions. Working closely with the Academic Programs department, you will collaborate with teachers, subject‑matter experts and government officials to create curriculum frameworks that align with national standards and international best practices. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive needs analyses to identify gaps in existing curricula across subjects.
• Design and develop curriculum modules, teaching guides and assessment tools that meet both national and international standards.
• Collaborate with local teachers, school administrators and Ministry of Education officials to ensure alignment with policy objectives.
• Integrate technology‑enhanced learning resources, including e‑learning platforms and multimedia content.
• Pilot new curricula in selected schools, gather feedback, and refine materials based on data‑driven insights.
• Produce detailed documentation, including curriculum frameworks, implementation manuals and evaluation reports.
• Facilitate professional development workshops for educators on curriculum usage and instructional strategies.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of global education trends, UNESCO guidelines and emerging pedagogical approaches.

Required Skills

• Strong expertise in curriculum design, instructional design and assessment methodologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in local languages is an advantage.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including government officials, NGOs and school staff.
• Proficiency in using digital learning tools, e‑learning authoring software and data analysis platforms.
• Project management experience, with a track record of delivering high‑quality educational resources on schedule.

Education

A Master’s degree in Education, Curriculum Studies, Instructional Design, or a closely related discipline is required. Candidates with additional certifications in educational technology or international development are highly regarded.

Experience

At least five years of professional experience in curriculum development, educational programme design or related fields, preferably within an international or NGO context. Experience working in West Africa or with Sierra Leonean education systems is a distinct advantage.

Salary
