Job Overview

The Branch Operations Manager will lead the operational functions of the Koidu branch, ensuring seamless delivery of banking services, compliance with regulatory standards, and optimal customer experience. Reporting to the Regional Operations Director, the role encompasses oversight of daily transactions, risk management, staff supervision, and implementation of process improvements. Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate all back‑office and front‑office operational activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of transactions.
  • Monitor compliance with Central Bank of Sierra Leone regulations, anti‑money laundering (AML) policies, and internal risk frameworks.
  • Lead a team of tellers, customer service representatives, and support staff, providing coaching, performance feedback, and career development guidance.
  • Implement and maintain operational SOPs, audit controls, and quality assurance processes to minimize errors and fraud.
  • Analyze operational metrics, prepare performance reports, and recommend process enhancements to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with IT and product teams to roll out new digital banking solutions, ensuring smooth integration with branch operations.
  • Manage cash handling, vault security, and reconciliation procedures in line with bank policies.
  • Facilitate regular training sessions on compliance, customer service, and technology tools for branch staff.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory inspections and internal audits.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of banking operations, regulatory compliance, and risk management.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as Certified Banking Operations Professional (CBOP) or AML certifications are advantageous.

Experience

Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in banking operations, with at least two (2) years in a supervisory or managerial capacity. Experience within a multinational bank operating in West Africa is preferred.

Salary

The remuneration package ranges from SSP 2,500,000 to SSP 3,500,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses and other incentives.
