Job Overview
We are currently seeking a highly skilled Cold Chain Logistics Specialist to lead our temperature-controlled transport operations in Bonthe. This is a critical role designed to ensure the integrity of the “cold chain” from the point of origin to the final destination, preventing spoilage and ensuring safety. Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement end-to-end cold chain protocols for the transport of perishable and pharmaceutical goods.
- Monitor real-time temperature tracking systems to ensure cargo remains within specified thermal ranges.
- Manage the maintenance and calibration of refrigerated trucks, cold rooms, and portable cooling units.
- Coordinate with customs officials and port authorities in Bonthe to expedite the clearance of temperature-sensitive shipments.
- Conduct regular audits of cold storage facilities to ensure compliance with WHO and GDP (Good Distribution Practice) standards.
- Develop contingency plans for equipment failure or power outages to prevent cargo loss.
- Train local drivers and warehouse staff on the proper handling of cold chain equipment and safety protocols.
- Analyze logistics data to identify bottlenecks and implement efficiency improvements in the delivery route.
Required Skills
- Expert knowledge of temperature-controlled logistics and thermal packaging solutions.
- Proficiency in using IoT-based temperature monitoring software and GPS tracking tools.
- Strong understanding of international shipping regulations and customs procedures in West Africa.

Education
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. Professional certifications in Cold Chain Management or Lean Six Sigma are highly desirable.
Experience
A minimum of 5 to 7 years of proven experience in logistics, with at least 3 years specifically focused on cold chain or pharmaceutical logistics. Experience working in developing markets or remote coastal regions is preferred for this Job Vacancy in Sierra Leone.
