ICOMOS is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Digital Heritage Preservation Specialist to join our team in Koidu, Sierra Leone. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing digital preservation strategies for cultural heritage sites and monuments in Sierra Leone.
Job Overview
The Digital Heritage Preservation Specialist will work closely with the ICOMOS team to develop and implement digital preservation strategies for cultural heritage sites and monuments in Sierra Leone. The successful candidate will have a strong background in digital preservation, cultural heritage management, and project management.
The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as cultural heritage management, digital preservation, or a related field. They will also have at least 5 years of experience in digital preservation, cultural heritage management, or a related field.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement digital preservation strategies for cultural heritage sites and monuments in Sierra Leone
- Conduct research and analysis on digital preservation best practices and emerging trends
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement digital preservation plans
- Develop and manage digital preservation projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation
- Provide training and technical assistance to stakeholders on digital preservation best practices
Required Skills
- Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as cultural heritage management, digital preservation, or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience in digital preservation, cultural heritage management, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of digital preservation best practices and emerging trends
- Excellent project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Education
Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as cultural heritage management, digital preservation, or a related field
Experience
At least 5 years of experience in digital preservation, cultural heritage management, or a related field
