Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Ecotourism Development Manager to lead our ecotourism initiatives in Sierra Leone. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing ecotourism strategies that promote sustainable tourism practices, conserve natural resources, and support local economic development. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement ecotourism strategies and plans that align with WWF’s conservation goals and objectives
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify ecotourism opportunities and potential markets
  • Collaborate with local communities, government agencies, and private sector stakeholders to develop and promote ecotourism products and services
  • Design and implement ecotourism products and services that promote sustainable tourism practices and support local economic development
  • Provide technical assistance and capacity-building support to local communities and ecotourism operators

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Tourism, Hospitality, Environmental Studies, or a related field
  • 5 years of experience in ecotourism development, conservation, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of sustainable tourism practices and ecotourism principles
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a team and build strong relationships with stakeholders

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Tourism, Hospitality, Environmental Studies, or a related field.

Experience

5 years of experience in ecotourism development, conservation, or a related field.

Salary

The salary range for this position is 5,000,000 – 10,000,000 SSP per annum.
