Job Overview:ERM is seeking an experienced Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Specialist to join our team in Kambia, Sierra Leone. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting EIAs for various projects, including infrastructure development, mining, and energy production. The EIA Specialist will work closely with clients, stakeholders, and ERM’s global team to ensure that projects are designed and implemented with minimal environmental impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct EIAs for various projects, including infrastructure development, mining, and energy production
- Develop and implement EIA methodologies and tools to ensure compliance with national and international regulations
- Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and ERM’s global team to ensure that projects are designed and implemented with minimal environmental impact
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, local communities, and NGOs
- Provide training and capacity-building support to local communities and stakeholders on EIA methodologies and best practices
Required Skills:
- Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field
- At least 5 years of experience in EIA, environmental consulting, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of national and international EIA regulations and guidelines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and ERM’s global team
