Job Overview

The Offshore Wind Turbine Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for the planning, execution, and supervision of maintenance activities on offshore wind turbines located in the Atlantic waters off Sierra Leone. This role combines technical expertise with strong project management skills to ensure turbine availability, reliability, and safety. The engineer will work closely with cross‑functional teams, including operations, health & safety, and supply chain, to deliver high‑quality maintenance services that meet Ørsted’s performance standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance plans for offshore wind turbines.
• Coordinate and lead maintenance crews during offshore interventions, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis of turbine failures and recommend engineering solutions.
• Manage spare‑parts inventory and liaise with suppliers to ensure timely availability of critical components.
• Prepare detailed maintenance reports, performance metrics, and cost analyses for senior management.
• Collaborate with the engineering design team to incorporate reliability improvements into future turbine installations.
• Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to Ørsted’s environmental and sustainability guidelines.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of offshore wind turbine systems, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components.
• Proficiency in condition‑monitoring tools, SCADA systems, and predictive maintenance software.
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities and experience with fault diagnosis in harsh marine environments.
• Leadership skills to manage multidisciplinary teams on offshore platforms.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or offshore safety qualifications are highly desirable.

Experience

Minimum of five years’ experience in offshore wind turbine maintenance, marine engineering, or related heavy‑industry maintenance roles. Prior experience working on offshore platforms or in remote locations is essential.

Salary

The position offers a competitive salary range of SSP 2,500,000 to SSP 4,000,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and allowances for offshore assignments are included.
