Job Overview

The Port Logistics Coordinator will be based in Kabala and will serve as the critical link between inland transport providers, customs authorities, and the maritime operations team at SLPA. Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate inbound and outbound cargo movements between Kabala inland facilities and the Port of Freetown.
• Prepare and verify all shipping documents, including bills of lading, customs declarations, and cargo manifests.
• Monitor cargo status in real‑time, updating stakeholders on delays, arrivals, and departures.
• Liaise with customs officials, freight forwarders, trucking companies, and port operators to ensure smooth handovers.
• Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for cargo handling and documentation.
• Analyze logistics data to identify bottlenecks and propose process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with national and international maritime regulations, including safety and security protocols.
• Provide regular reports on cargo volumes, transit times, and performance metrics to senior management.
• Support the implementation of digital tracking systems and inventory management tools.
• Assist in emergency response planning for cargo incidents or disruptions.

Required Skills
