Job Overview
The Risk Management Analyst will join the Risk Management Department to support the bank’s credit, market, and operational risk frameworks. Reporting to the Head of Risk, the analyst will conduct risk assessments, develop risk metrics, and ensure compliance with both local regulations and Ecobank Group policies. This role is critical for maintaining the bank’s risk appetite and protecting its financial stability while enabling growth opportunities across Sierra Leone.

Key Responsibilities
- Analyze credit proposals and perform risk rating assessments for corporate and retail loan applications.
- Monitor daily risk exposures using the bank’s risk management system and generate exception reports.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of risk models, including probability of default and loss given default calculations.
- Prepare risk dashboards and present findings to senior management and the Board Risk Committee.
- Ensure compliance with the Central Bank of Sierra Leone’s risk guidelines and internal policies.
- Collaborate with the Compliance and Audit teams to address identified risk issues and implement corrective actions.
- Participate in stress testing exercises and scenario analysis to evaluate the bank’s resilience.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in Excel and statistical software.
- Knowledge of Basel III/IV regulatory frameworks and local banking regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Team player with a proactive attitude toward problem solving.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as FRM (Financial Risk Manager) or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) are considered an advantage.
Experience
Applicants should have 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in risk analysis, credit assessment, or financial modeling within a banking environment. Experience with risk management software and exposure to emerging market economies is highly valued.
Salary
The successful candidate will receive a competitive monthly salary ranging from 1,200,000 to 2,000,000 Sierra Leonean Leone (SLL), commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and annual salary reviews are part of the compensation package.
