Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sustainable Agriculture Specialist to join our team in Kenema, Sierra Leone. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing sustainable agriculture projects, providing technical assistance to farmers, and promoting climate-resilient agriculture practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement sustainable agriculture projects, including crop and animal production, soil conservation, and irrigation management
  • Provide technical assistance to farmers, including training and capacity building on sustainable agriculture practices
  • Promote climate-resilient agriculture practices, including conservation agriculture and agroforestry
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local stakeholders, including farmers, community leaders, and government officials
  • Monitor and evaluate project progress, including data collection and analysis

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in sustainable agriculture, including experience working with small-scale farmers
  • Strong knowledge of sustainable agriculture practices, including crop and animal production, soil conservation, and irrigation management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including ability to work with local stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including ability to collect and analyze data

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or related field

Experience

At least 5 years of experience in sustainable agriculture, including experience working with small-scale farmers
