Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sustainable Agriculture Extension Officer to join our team in Pujehun, Sierra Leone. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support to small-scale farmers and rural communities to improve their agricultural productivity and livelihoods.

The Sustainable Agriculture Extension Officer will work closely with local stakeholders, including farmers, community leaders, and government officials, to design and implement sustainable agriculture projects that promote climate-resilient agriculture, improve soil fertility, and enhance biodiversity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance and support to small-scale farmers and rural communities to improve their agricultural productivity and livelihoods.
  • Design and implement sustainable agriculture projects that promote climate-resilient agriculture, improve soil fertility, and enhance biodiversity.
  • Work closely with local stakeholders, including farmers, community leaders, and government officials, to identify and address the needs of rural communities.
  • Develop and implement training programs for farmers and extension agents on sustainable agriculture practices.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of sustainable agriculture projects on rural communities.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Extension, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in agricultural extension or a related field.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing sustainable agriculture projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a team and build partnerships with local stakeholders.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Extension, or a related field.

Experience

At least 5 years of experience in agricultural extension or a related field.
