Job Overview
The Artificial Intelligence Engineer will design, develop, and deploy machine learning models that solve real‑world problems for AWS customers in Sierra Leone and the broader African market. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, train, and optimize machine learning models for image, text, and speech processing.
- Integrate AI services into AWS cloud architectures, ensuring high availability and security.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define data pipelines and feature engineering strategies.
- Conduct performance testing, model validation, and continuous improvement cycles.
- Document model design, code, and deployment procedures following best practices.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior AI engineers and interns.

Required Skills
- Proficiency in Python and libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit‑learn.
- Experience with AWS AI/ML services (SageMaker, Comprehend, Rekognition, etc.).
- Strong understanding of statistical modeling, data preprocessing, and feature extraction.
- Ability to design RESTful APIs for model inference.
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) is a plus.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
Education
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline is required. Advanced degrees (M.Sc. or Ph.D.) in AI, Machine Learning, or Computational Mathematics are highly desirable and will be considered an advantage during the selection process.
Experience
Candidates should have 3‑5 years of hands‑on experience developing and deploying AI/ML solutions in production environments. Salary
