Job Overview

The Renewable Energy Project Manager will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of solar and wind projects in the Southern Province, ensuring they meet technical, financial, and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage detailed project plans, budgets, and schedules for solar and wind installations.
• Conduct site assessments, resource analyses, and feasibility studies to determine project viability.
• Secure permits, licenses, and regulatory approvals in compliance with Sierra Leonean law.
• Lead cross‑functional teams including engineers, procurement specialists, and local contractors.
• Monitor project performance, mitigate risks, and ensure on‑time, on‑budget delivery.
• Maintain strong relationships with government agencies, community leaders, and financing partners.
• Prepare progress reports, financial statements, and technical documentation for senior management.
• Promote health, safety, and environmental standards throughout all project phases.

Required Skills

• Proven project management expertise in renewable energy, preferably solar or wind.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a data‑driven approach.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Ability to manage budgets exceeding SSP 2 million and negotiate contracts.
• Familiarity with local regulatory frameworks and international standards.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Science, Renewable Energy, or a closely related discipline is required. Advanced certifications such as PMP, Prince2, or a Master’s degree in Sustainable Energy are highly desirable.

Experience

Minimum five years of hands‑on experience managing renewable energy projects from conception to commissioning, with a track record of delivering projects on schedule and within budget. Experience working in West Africa or similar emerging markets is an advantage.

Salary

The compensation package ranges from SSP 1,500,000 to SSP 2,500,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses and allowances aligned with project milestones.
