Job Overview

The Environmental Conservation Manager will be responsible for leading our conservation efforts in Kambia, Sierra Leone. This includes developing and implementing conservation plans, working with local communities to promote sustainable land-use practices, and collaborating with government agencies to protect and restore natural habitats.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement conservation plans to protect and restore natural habitats in Kambia, Sierra Leone
• Work with local communities to promote sustainable land-use practices and reduce human-wildlife conflict
• Collaborate with government agencies to protect and restore natural habitats, and to promote sustainable development
• Lead a team of conservation staff to implement conservation projects and programs
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of conservation efforts, and make recommendations for improvement

Required Skills

• Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Conservation Biology, or related field
• 5-7 years of experience in environmental conservation, with a focus on habitat protection and restoration
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related field

Experience

5-7 years of experience in environmental conservation, with a focus on habitat protection and restoration

Salary
