Job Overview
The Retail Store Operations Manager will lead the day‑to‑day operations of Shoprite’s flagship store in Freetown, ensuring optimal performance, high customer satisfaction, and profitability. Reporting directly to the Regional Operations Director, you will be responsible for overseeing all store functions, including merchandising, inventory control, staff management, visual presentation, and compliance with health and safety standards. As the operational leader, you will drive sales growth, manage budgets, and implement initiatives that enhance the shopper experience. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate a team of 80+ staff members, including department supervisors, sales associates, and support personnel.
- Develop and execute daily, weekly, and monthly operational plans to achieve sales targets and profitability.
- Monitor inventory levels, conduct regular stock audits, and coordinate with the supply chain team to ensure optimal product availability.
- Maintain visual merchandising standards and ensure the store layout enhances the customer journey.
- Implement and enforce health, safety, and security protocols in compliance with local regulations.
- Analyze sales data, customer feedback, and market trends to identify growth opportunities.
- Prepare and manage the store’s P&L statement, controlling expenses and maximizing margins.
- Recruit, train, and develop staff, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with the Marketing team to execute promotional campaigns and in‑store events.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies, legal requirements, and ethical standards.

Salary
The successful candidate will receive a competitive monthly salary ranging from SSP 1,200,000 to SSP 2,000,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and incentives are also part of the compensation package.
