Position: Finance Manager – ECD

Job Type: Full-Time

Job Purpose

The Finance Manager will oversee accounting, financial planning, treasury functions, and donor reporting to ensure strong financial control, compliance, and accurate financial management across country program operations.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Controls
Supervise cash and bank transactions to ensure financial integrity
Ensure compliance with financial procedures across field offices
Maintain and update fixed asset registers and depreciation records
Participate in stock taking and asset verification exercises

Ledger Analysis & Reconciliations
Verify and approve accounting entries for accuracy
Reconcile subsidiary ledgers with general ledger accounts
Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
Maintain proper financial records and documentation

Payment Processing
Review invoices and payment vouchers for accuracy
Maintain records of prepayments and accruals
Prepare monthly payroll payments
Ensure proper documentation for all financial transactions

Financial Planning & Reporting
Prepare monthly management accounts
Coordinate budgeting and financial planning processes
Prepare donor and project financial reports
Maintain tracking tools for financial monitoring

Safeguarding Responsibilities
Promote safeguarding culture and ensure compliance with policies
Ensure staff training on safeguarding procedures
Report and handle safeguarding concerns appropriately

Requirements

Academic Qualifications
Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
ACCA, CPA, or CMA certification preferred

Experience
3–5 years of managerial experience in finance and accounting
Experience in NGOs or international organizations preferred

Skills & Knowledge
Strong computerized accounting skills
Knowledge of IFRS/IAS standards
Experience in financial reporting and statement preparation
Understanding of banking rules and financial procedures
Strong analytical and reconciliation skills
