Job Overview

The Solar Project Development Manager will lead the end‑to‑end development of solar energy projects in the Bo district and surrounding areas. Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and evaluate solar project sites in Bo and neighboring districts, conducting site visits and resource assessments.
  • Lead the preparation of detailed feasibility studies, including technical, financial, and environmental analyses.
  • Secure land acquisition, grid interconnection agreements, and all necessary permits from local authorities and regulatory bodies.
  • Develop comprehensive project proposals and financial models to attract investors, lenders, and development partners.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams—engineering, procurement, legal, and community relations—to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Manage stakeholder engagement, including community outreach, government liaison, and partnership negotiations.
  • Oversee the preparation of tender documents, evaluate bids, and select contractors in accordance with TotalEnergies’ procurement policies.
  • Monitor project milestones, budgets, and risk registers, providing regular updates to senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Skills

  • Strong project management expertise with a proven track record in solar or renewable energy development.
  • Excellent analytical skills for financial modeling, cost‑benefit analysis, and risk assessment.

Education

Experience

Minimum of five (5) years of hands‑on experience in solar project development, including feasibility studies, permitting, financing, and construction management. Experience working in West Africa, particularly Sierra Leone, is preferred. Demonstrated success in delivering projects of at least 10 MW capacity is a strong advantage.

Salary

The position offers a competitive salary range of SSP 2,500,000 to SSP 4,000,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and long‑term incentive schemes are also part of the total compensation package.
